San Jose City College on Line to Save 100s of Man-Hours Thanks to Web-based Curriculum Management System

Governet, a technology company that creates and implements a digital software as a service (SaaS) curriculum and program management platform for colleges and universities around the world, completed implementation of its CurricUNET META System at San Jose City College.

Located in the heart of the Silicon Valley and founded in 1921, San Jose City College is recognized worldwide as a leader in innovation and research. The College serves about 20,000 students on the SJCC campus.

Governet and San Jose City College staff worked in tandem to customize the software to the college’s specific needs for an online curriculum management system for development and approval of new courses and programs modification of existing curriculum . According to project leadership, the software program will allow faculty an automated solution for managing curriculum offerings.

“Governet is excited about the opportunity to partner with San Jose City College and create a customized software program that will save time updating and approving classes each semester,” said Mark Svornic, president of Governet.

Founded 29 years ago in 1986, Governet works to lighten the curriculum-management workload for faculty and administrators at colleges and universities across the United States and international locations.

The company’s software—CurricUNET META—automates the development and approval process of new courses and programs as well as their management and maintenance in higher education, a process that previously required a significant commitment of resources—time, funds, and people. Managing this process with META creates greater efficiencies and effectiveness of resources, generating significant savings that administrators can then better allocate to serving the institution’s mission.
