SANTA BARBARA, June 2, 2013—Governet is pleased to announce that Mark Svorinic will join its executive team as Senior Consultant to the development team of its award-winning curriculum management program, CurricUNET. Mark Svorinic is a proponent of the development and implementation of educational technology solutions and has leveraged his knowledge of education and technology to bring forth the inclusion of computer assisted and delivered learning from the school districts in his home state of Arizona to international projects literally spanning the globe. Svorinic will base his operations in Phoenix, AZ at Governet’s new Southwest Regional Technical Center.
“As Governet’s business has grown, so has our mandate for growing our team of experts. Mark Svorinic is a seasoned executive who brings more than 25 years of experience in educational technology solutions to the table,” said George Tamas, CEO of Governet.
Having started as a secondary school educator specializing in Business and Technology Education in the early 1980s, he recognized that emergent technologies would inevitably impact the learning arena. Taking on the role of District Technology Coordinator for the school system, Svorinic crafted this vision into a reality by moving the schools into a technology rich environment long before the trend towards educational technology was affected across the United States. He continued to drive the trend in Arizona when he became the Director for Academic Technology Services in the Tempe Union school district, a position he held through the educational technological watershed decade of the 1990s.
Since then, Svorinic has held senior executive positions at Cisco Learning Institute, Pearson Digital Learning, most recently at Pinnacle Education, Inc. He is the founder of Guru Associates, LLC, an organization focused on assisting forward-thinking schools, nonprofits and NGOs to have greater impact by effectively integrating technology in the teaching and learning process as well as organizational development and operations.
“Mark’s strong experience in the areas of teaching, learning and management combined with his expertise in use of instructional technology and the business aspects of technology to improve the learning experience and organizational impact make him exceptionally valuable to our technical team,” said Tamas. “We are grateful that he has joined and confident that he will be a true asset of our company, our products and our clients.”
