Governet Partners with Foundation for California Community Colleges to Support Curricular Automation

SANTA BARBARA, August 14, 2013—Governet, innovators of the award-winning CurricUNET suite of curricular automation and management services, announced today that it has partnered with the Foundation for California Community Colleges (FCCC) to offer curriculum automation and management programs and services to California Community Colleges not already subscribed to CurricUNET. As part of the partnership terms, a portion of revenue Governet generates from the sale of CurricUNET to California community colleges participating in the program will benefit FCCC.

CurricUNET currently serves the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office with its statewide curriculum reporting and approval system, called the CCC Curriculum Inventory. Governet also serves the state’s entire public higher education network including the California Community College (CCC) system, the University of California system and the California State University system for statewide articulation and transfer via California’s Articulation System Stimulating Inter Institutional Student Transfer, known as ASSIST. The partnership with FCCC will enable the remaining 29 colleges to adopt CurricUNET for local curriculum processing at a discounted rate.

As part of its mission to benefit, support and enhance the California Community College system, the FCCC develops programs and services that save millions of dollars for colleges and students, promote excellence in education, and provide valuable learning opportunities for students throughout the state. This is achieved through special initiatives, statewide awards, and direct donations to the colleges and to the Network of California Community College Foundations.

“We realize the great challenges facing many community-based colleges, and we are committed to helping these institutions take advantage of technology that can help them save time, money and other resources,” said George Tamas, CEO of Governet.  “Our partnership with FCCC is mutually rewarding.  It is my hope that giving back can help these institutions become more competitive in the education arena and create more advantageous curricular programs for their constituents.”

Earlier this year, Governet stepped up its efforts to assist underfunded higher education institutions by partnering with Blue Mountain Energy (BME) to create a unique Grant Writing Assistance Program that provides these colleges and universities with an opportunity to benefit from CurricUNET programs and gain access to the Worldwide Curriculum Network. Governet’s commitment to FCCC will include a joint marketing effort to apprise these institutions of the program made available to them.
